In March we released Librarian Recommends: Cover Upload, much to the delight of our customers. Librarian Recommends: Cover Upload allows librarians to source, upload, and display cover images for items in the catalog that were either missing an image or were incorrect.
This element was originally intended for book, video, and journal images, but what surprised us were how many librarians are using it to showcase the wide variety of materials that libraries collect. We’ve approved and loaded everything from book covers and journal images, to images of cake pans and even pickleball paddles! As long as an item is in your catalog and has a valid identifier we can match to (ISBN, ISSN, UPC), you can expand the image collection for not only your own catalog, but for all library catalogs who subscribe to Syndetics Unbound.
In the past 5 months, customers have loaded almost 2,000 images into our image repository. Every day we’re surprised and impressed by the amazing items that can be discovered in libraries across the world. See below for more ideas of how we can help you feature all that your catalog has to offer.
